摘要: This study provides new structural, stratigraphic, and geochemical data a literature review of the Cretaceous–Paleogene stratigraphy, biostratigraphy, tectonics, magmatism in southern Apennines belt, Italy, with aim to demonstrate occurrence an Albian Eocene abortive rifting stage Adria domain. During this time, tectono-stratigraphic evolution domain is characterized by episodes coeval uplift drowning. Different sectors Apennine Apulian platforms were so changes paleoenvironments, leading different stratigraphic records (from shallow-water slope basin), as well development thick bauxitic levels. Contemporaneously, large amount calciclastic sediments supply from emerging was deposited basins surrounding carbonate (i.e., Ligurian Lagonegro–Molise basins). The Albian–Eocene interval also anorogenic synsedimentary extensional faulting that, along changed sedimentary facies distribution, points out for crustal-scale tectonics. We suggest that such tectonics result episode, limited magmatism, starting reaching its climax uppermost Cretaceous–Eocene times. In scenario, recorded product during event single rift system, which extended toward south, margin Ocean Hyblean (Sicily), Pelagian (Tunisia), Sirte Basin Province Rift (Libya).
