摘要: Since 1994 the Barnacle Goose Management Scheme (BGMS) has integrated conservation and agricultural aims on Scottish side of Solway Firth. In 4 years before introduction BGMS, density barnacle geese (Branta leucopsis) Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust Reserve at Caerlaverock was four times higher than non-Reserve area. 6 following establishment fields rose so that had twice No difference in found between Feeding Zone Intermediate BGMS. The around study area appears to be a maximum under current management regimes. remaining from this increasing population are using other feeding areas. This may lead further conservation-agriculture conflict future, but could mitigated through expanding range quality dedicated reserve network, or combination two.
