摘要: This paper presents results from a multidisciplinary study of negotiation process between farmers and wildlife authorities which led to an agricultural subsidy scheme alleviate conflicts agriculture geese in Norway. The Svalbard-breeding population pink-footed Anser brachyrhynchus has increased considerably over the last decades with have escalated, especially at stopover sites spring when feed on newly sprouted pasture grass. In Vesteralen, important site for North Norway, deployed scaring varying intensity dependent level conflict during 1988–2012. We assessed efficiency established 2006, terms its mitigation, reflected near discontinuation activities. presence was analysed relation intensity, total goose size increasing occurrence another species, barnacle Branta leucopsis. Scaring significantly affected number staging both absolute relative (controlling size). responded immediately increased, reduced, scaring. Despite establishment scheme, recently declined is probably caused by geese. For farmers, provides funding that reduces economic costs Sustaining low will require close monitoring, dialogue adaptation cater changes dynamics.
