摘要: At the moment, there is no single conceptual theoretical model of gambling that adequately accounts for multiple biological, psychological and ecological variables contributing to development pathological gambling. Advances in this area are hampered by imprecise definitions gambling, failure distinguish between problems problem gamblers a tendency assume form one, homogeneous population with similar principles applying equally all members class. The purpose paper advance pathways integrates complex array personality, developmental, cognitive, learning theory determinants It proposed three distinct subgroups manifesting impaired control over their behaviour can be identified. These groups include (a) behaviourally conditioned gamblers, (b) emotionally vulnerable (c) antisocial, impulsivist gamblers. implications clinical management discussed.
