摘要: From September to December 1991, a large number of free-ranging raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes procyonoides) died from highly contagious disease in the vicinity Tokyo. Eighteen seriously ill or dead animals were submitted for necropsy. The pathological findings resembled those masked palm civet (Paguma larvata) found infected with canine distemper virus (CDV) same area late August 1991. most striking features pneumonia and gastroenteritis. Microscopical lesions consisted cytoplasmic intranuclear eosinophilic inclusion bodies various organs tissues, bronchiolointerstitial pneumonia, non-suppurative demyelinating encephalitis, lymphocytic depletion lymphoid tissues catarrhal necrotizing CDV-specific antigens, demonstrated immunohistochemically epithelial central nervous system corresponded presence sections stained haematoxylin eosin. Ultrastructurally, both observed be composed aggregates viral nucleocapsids. study provided clear evidence that CDV was cause disease. It is possible introduced infection into dog population.
