摘要: School restructuring continues to be a common approach improving education. Despite restructuring's continued and growing support, there is little research support its effectiveness. The theoretical contrast exposed in school between bureaucratic organic organizational forms. A study assessed the effect of on students during their early high years. Data were used from first two waves National Educational Longitudinal Study 1988 with nationally representative sample 11,794 sophomores 820 secondary schools. Restructuring effects evaluated gains students' engagement achievement mathematics, reading, social studies, science grades 8 10, as well distribution gains. Schools categorized restructured, moderate, or traditional based 30 structural practices measures. Restructured schools unrestructured contrasted traditionally reformed High size was an important feature.
