摘要: Substance use disorders are considered to be the nation's number one health problem. These continue cause more deaths, illnesses, and disabilities than do other preventable problems, providing ample support for need developing professional competence in this area. This paper describes specific steps used by The University of Texas‐Houston Health Science Center School Nursing infuse substance abuse content into undergraduate curriculum, design a graduate subspecialty addictions nursing, offer continuing education on nurses acute care community settings. provides guidelines academic institutions engaged important task increasing nursing related disorders.
