Behaviour of serum α-fetoprotein in acute hepatitis

摘要: α-FP was determined by radioimmunoassay in the serum of 28 normal subjects aged between 21 and 40 27 male 19 49 with acute hepatitis. The measurements made on hepatitis cases were systematically repeated during course disease from 5th day after its clinical appearance to 30th–45th day; at same time behaviour GPT, alkaline phosphatase bilirubinemia also studied. In adult subjects, constantly present a mean value 1.37±0.67 males 1.10±0.63 females; no statistically significant difference found two sexes. significantly higher quantities than values; it increased progressively reach amaximum about 15th–20th onset, then decreased quite rapidly remaining, however, level for whole observation period. findings confirm persistence synthesis subject reveal an increase this hepatitis, possibly linked process hepatic regeneration, but without being correlated other parameters (GPT, phosphatase, bilirubin).
