Hypergastrinemia is associated with adenocarcinomas in the gastric corpus and shorter patient survival

摘要: Hypergastrinemia causes carcinoids or carcinomas in the gastric corpus animal models. Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection patients atrophy, hypergastrinemia and promotes carcinogenesis. Many with cancer have it has therefore been hypothesized that We examined associations between serum gastrin, anatomical localization of cancer, histological classification patient survival. Patients non-cardia adenocarcinomas were included prospectively (n = 80). Tumour localization, according to Lauren disease stage recorded. Preoperative fasting gastrin was analysed by radioimmunoassay HP serology ELISA. Patient survival determined after a median postoperative follow-up 16.5 years. Hypergastrinemic had located more often compared normogastrinemic (81.8 vs 36.2%, p 0.002). 2-4 shorter than [5.0 (1.1-8.9) 10.0 (6.4-13.6) months (p 0.04)]. There no significant difference intestinal diffuse type carcinomas. associated The findings support hypothesis carcinogenesis affects biological behaviour.
