摘要: Cettia diphone is a subspecies of the Japanese Bush-warbler that endemic to Bonin and Volcano Islands Ogasawara Islands. Although two island groups are physically distant have different geological histories, genetic morphological relationships between populations unknown. A few individuals an unidentified been observed since 2007 on Mukojima They were possibly wintering birds another in light their song pattern appearance. We examined differences among C. d. diphone, cantans, sakhalinensis determined identity by comparing sequences CO1 region mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) conducting canonical discriminant analysis (CDA) using five measurements per bird. Our results indicate these (except sakhalinensis) genetically morphologically different. did not share any haplotypes mtDNA indicated high discrimination rates (over 75%) based CDA. Because population inhabits only one island, it priority for conservation. The Island native subspecies. Migratory might colonize due improved habitat conditions available niche. Continuous monitoring its impact required.
