摘要: Abstract Much has been learned about the etiology and pathogenesis of schizophrenia since term was first used by Eugene Bleuler over a century ago to describe one most important forms major mental illness affect mankind. Both nature nurture feature prominently in our understanding genesis overall risk developing schizophrenia. We now have firm grasp broad structure genetic architecture several key environmental factors identified delineated. However, much heritability remains unexplained reported do not explain all variances attributable factors. The biggest problem at present is that causal mechanisms involved still its infancy. In this review, we extent limits knowledge specific genetic/constitutional non-genetic/environmental contribute suggest novel methods may be required understand almost certainly immensely complex multi-level generation phenotype.
