摘要: In prosthetic or paravalvular mitral regurgitation, transthoracic color Doppler flow mapping can sometimes fail to detect the regurgitant jet within left atrium because of shadowing by valve. To overcome this limitation, we assessed utility visualization convergence region (FCR) proximal orifice in 20 consecutive patients with mechanical regurgitation documented surgery and cardiac catheterization (13 patients). addition, studied 33 normally functioning prostheses. studies were performed apical, subcostal, parasternal long-axis views. An FCR was detected 95% (19 20) regurgitation.
