摘要: We examined nuclear division of germinating aeciospores the western gall rust fungus, Peridermium harknessii (teleomorph, Endocronartium harknessii). Mature were primarily (86%) binucleate. Migration two nuclei into germ tube followed emergence tube. The percentage germlings with 3 increased from 5% at 4 h to 32% 12 h; thus, in was asynchronous and mitotic. conclude that fungus is an imperfect rust, not endocyclic should be called harknessii.
