摘要: Rates of malignant lymphoma (ML) in California dairy cattle and relationships between ML presence antibodies to bovine leukemia virus (BLV) were investigated. An excessively high rate was found the population studied a previously unknown relationship p-24 BLV identified. Sera from slaughtered holstein cows tested by agar gel immunodiffusion for gp-51 antigens BLV. Of 7,760 slaughtered, 32% 10% had antibodies, respectively, 52 (0.67%) condemned ML. Lymphoma diagnosed histopathologically 37 (86%) 43 sampled those condemned. Highly elevated prevalence rates antibody-positive 172.6 511.5 per 10,000 cows, respectively. A not associated with estimated first time be 1.55 cows. highly significant (P less than .00001) strong (odds ratio = 26.0) association antibodies. When results serologic tests compared regard diagnosis ML, highest sensitivity use serology alone (97.3%) specificity (90.4%). False-negative false-positive gp-51-positive, p-24-negative p-24-positive 0.21 94.8%,
