摘要: Previous work has identified a group of genes whose products play important roles in two seemingly unrelated processes: cell cycle progression and splicing. The these show network physical genetic interactions suggestive the existence protein complex, splicing complex (CSC). Here we analyze between ISY1, SYF2 NTC20, three non-essential components CSC. We that mutations ISY1 cause lethality absence Ntc20p, double mutant isy1Delta syf2Delta shows temperature-dependent arrest. This arrest is due to lower levels alpha-tubulin, encoded by TUB1 TUB3, intron-containing genes. low alpha-tubulin trigger activation spindle checkpoint, causing Thus, our results have uncovered an unexpected role for pre-mRNA maintenance fidelity chromosome transmission during division.
