摘要: Astrocytoma, especially of high grade, is dependent on neovascularization for its growth and progression. The expression vascular endothelial factor (VEGF-A), an important angiogenesis factor, has been demonstrated in perinecrotic cells glioblastoma. In order to achieve more knowledge regarding the process astrocytoma we have investigated VEGF-A immunohistochemically different areas tumors. 21 patients with astrocytomas varying grade serial stereotactic biopsies were performed. Biopsies taken from brain adjacent tumor (BAT), periphery, center. BAT region high-grade astrocytomas, found a frequent less blood vessels. there was mainly while center IV tumors also frequently expressed necrosis. II viable preferentially periphery but peripheral vessels centrally located cells. findings indicate that, addition hypoxia necrotic may be other factors that stimulate VEGF-A. It suggested prerequisite aggressive infiltrative astrocytomas. Therefore, when operating it importance resect this part take finding into account planning radiotherapy.
