摘要: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a regulator of angiogenesis, vasculogenesis and vascular permeability. In this contribution, molecular biological properties VEGF are described. Furthermore, article focuses on the evidence that angiogenesis in brain tumors mediated by VEGF. Among topics discussed expression patterns its receptors different tumors, possible regulatory mechanism involved VEGF-driven tumor involvement genesis peritumoral edema. Finally, anti-angiogenesis approaches to target VEGF/VEGF discussed.
