摘要: Paleostress orientations were calculated from fault populations at 24 sites along the SW-NE segment and five E-W. Yasin of Karakoram-Kohistan Suture Zone in NW Pakistan They demonstrate importance combined thrusting strike-slip faulting. However, several paleostress tensor directions are distinguished, a dominant NW-SE compression minor E-W compatible with recent evolution this part Hindu Kush. From lack both systematic overprinting-relationships spatial trend (the two tensors obtained different locations) we conclude that each location any these shortening can dominate Heterogeneously distributed extension is found some places likely due to local conditions These substantiate transpressional regime far-field Himalayan document long-term background seismogenic deformation region.
