摘要: Using a new experimental model of protein-calorie starvation, the impact malnutrition on liver regeneration, and changes in composition during were studied. Forty-one rats allocated to one 3 groups: group I (n = 13) normally nourished which underwent partial hepatectomy, II 16) semistarved III 12) sham operations. Liver biopsy specimens taken at time hepatectomy when killed after 48 hours regeneration. The samples used for determination water, fat, glycogen, protein, DNA, RNA content. replication rate cells was measured by autoradiography continuous incorporation tritium labelled thymidine. Malnutrition associated with higher postoperative mortality reduced livers changed reduction both size glycogen concentration. After regeneration there marked change severe fatty degeneration, fall rise water concentration stimulated but protein content decreased. results emphasise importance an adequate nutritional state
