摘要: ABSTRACT Targeted extension for heterogeneous farming systems is a challenge in developing countries. Farm type identification and characterization based on estimates of income from different farm components allows simplifying diversity systems. Use multivariate statistical techniques, such as principal component analysis (PCA) cluster (CA), help typology delineation. Using this methodological approach, the present study conducted West Bengal, India, identified four distinct types, namely, farms growing food grain jute, with animal husbandry fishery diversification high off-farm income, crop vegetables fruits. Such delineation helps differentiated, holistic, broad-based intervention to address need types reduced transaction cost agricultural research system. Keywords:
