摘要: A transcriptome analysis of the Populus alba cambial region was performed with aim elucidating gene network underlying response to water deficit within cambium and differentiating derivative cells. Water stress induced in 1-year-old P. plants by withholding for 9 days. At that time, leaf predawn potential fell -0.8 MPa, resulting a significant reduction stomatal conductance, CO(2) assimilation consistent increment stem shrinkage. These effects were almost fully reversed re-hydration. The resulted changes expression affected several functional categories, such as protein metabolism, cell wall response, transporters transcriptional regulation. function up- down-regulated genes is discussed considering physiological deficit.
