Measuring the Performance of Information Systems: A Functional Scorecard

摘要: This study develops an instrument that may be used as information systems (IS) functional scorecard (ISFS). It is based on a theoretical input-output model of the IS function's role in supporting business process effectiveness and organizational performance. The research consists three system output dimensions--systems performance, effectiveness, service "updated paradigm" for development was followed to develop validate ISFS instrument. Construct validation conducted using responses from 346 users 149 organizations by combination exploratory factor analysis structural equation modeling LISREL. resulted measures 18 unidimensional factors within dimensions. Moreover, sample 120 matched-paired separate CIO user nomological validation. results showed measure reflected positively related improvements processes Consequently, assessing guiding technology investment sourcing decisions, basis further development.
