摘要: Genetic evidence suggests that the POU transcription factor Oct-6 plays a pivotal role as an intracellular regulator of Schwann cell differentiation. In absence function cells are generated in appropriate numbers and these differentiate normally up to promyelin stage at which they transiently arrest. During peripheral nerve development expression is initiated precursors strongly upregulated cells. subsequently extinguished terminally differentiating Thus, identification characterisation DNA elements involved this specific regulation may lead us signaling cascade axon-derived signals drive differentiation initiate myelination. Here we present experiments aim identifying such regulatory sequences.
