摘要: Acute phase proteins (APPs) have been used as biomarkers of inflammation, infection and trauma for decades in human medicine but relatively under-utilised the context veterinary medicine. However, significant progress has made detection, measurement application APPs both companion farm animal over recent years. In dog, C-reactive protein, haptoglobin serum amyloid A identified diagnostic 'markers' steroid-responsive meningitis-arteritis, while cats cattle alpha(1) acid glycoprotein proved valuable disease, respectively. dairy cattle, a mammary-associated A3 isoform, produced by inflamed mammary gland during episodes mastitis, great potential this economically important disease. Understanding use APP inflammatory conditions domestic animals expanded significantly years, and, with insights provided ongoing research, it is likely that these compounds will be increasingly future diagnosis prognosis
