摘要: Remarkable progress has been made in the last decade new methods for biologic measurements using sophisticated technologies that go beyond established genome, proteome, and gene expression platforms. These create opportunities to enhance cancer epidemiologic studies. In this article, we describe several emerging evaluate their potential We review background, assays, methods, challenges offer examples of use mitochondrial DNA copy number assessments, epigenomic profiling (including methylation, histone modification, miRNAs, chromatin condensation), metabolite (metabolomics), telomere measurements. map volume literature referring each one these measurement tools extent which efforts have at knowledge integration (e.g., systematic reviews meta-analyses). also clarify strengths weaknesses existing platforms range type samples can be tested with them. used identifying at-risk populations providing novel markers survival treatment response. Rigorous analytic validation standards, transparent availability massive data, large-scale evidence are essential fulfilling technologies.
