Politics and Power within Multinational Corporations: Mainstream Studies, Emerging Critical Approaches and Suggestions for Future Research

摘要: Given the increased public interest in use and misuse of power multinationals aftermath financial crisis, it is notable that relations multinational corporations (MNCs) have not gained enhanced attention academic community. What missing so far study MNCs a systematic examination how politics within been addressed mainstream International Business (IB) sociological research studying MNC. Our paper starts off by critically reviewing these two approaches as organisations seeking to understand shortcomings former research. Next, we review new emergent critical perspectives, which call socio-political studies MNCs, where are just more prominently but also differently, from bottom-up actor-centred perspective. After this stream research, propose future should take micro-political perspective focus detail on micro-foundations relations. In our concluding section show can learn both interactionist discursive theories when analysing organisational framework for micro-level political game playing based three dimensional (episodic, rules domination) suggest some key questions studies.
