摘要: Campylobacter jejuni is a leading cause of bacterial enteritis worldwide. This microaerophilic bacterium can survive in aerobic environments, suggesting it has protective mechanisms against oxidative stress. The clinical C. Bf strain characterized by an increased resistance to oxygen. study aimed characterize the behavior under atmosphere and response ROS-promoter agents. Growth was studied both microaerobic conditions using classic cultivable methods. Electronic microscopy mreB gene expression were used evaluate morphology this conditions. survival stress tested presence different concentrations hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) paraquat (PQ). results showed that grow aerobically, unlike other strains tested. Cells exposed presented changes mreB, responsible for maintaining bacillary cell morphology, down-expressed. In aerobically acclimated conditions, exhibited higher rate 52 % H2O2 (1 mM) compared reference NCTC 11168. Concentrations above 1 mM PQ lethal but not Bf. Taken together, these data highlight Bf, indicating microorganism seems more adapted hostile environmental
