摘要: BackgroundWinging of the scapula is caused by weakness thoracoscapular muscles, which allows to lift off chest wall during shoulder movements. In facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (and occasionally in other dystrophies) there selective muscles may spare such as deltoid muscle. This imbalance results significant winging and loss function. Historically, a number different surgical non-surgical interventions have been used achieve scapular stability. review examines evidence available for use all fixation techniques dystrophy, especially dystrophy.ObjectivesTo examine relative efficacy (especially dystrophy) improving upper limb function.Search strategyWe searched Cochrane Neuromuscular Disease Group Trials Specialized Register (20 July 2009), The Central Controlled (The Library Issue 3, 2009) Medline (1966 EMBASE (1980 randomised trials. We also contacted authors trials experts field.Selection criteriaAll reports including quasi-randomised or controlled trials, comparing any form (surgical non-surgical) people (of ages severity) with due dystrophy. Our primary outcome measure was objective improvement abduction. secondary measures were: patient-perceived performance activities daily living, cosmetic results, subjective pain proportion patients postoperative complications.Data collection analysisWe collated summarised studies on treatment dystrophy.Main resultsNo were identified. therefore present non-randomised literature available.Authors' conclusionsThere no from support suggestion observational that operative produce benefits. However, these be balanced against immobilisation, need physiotherapy potential complications. conclude trial would difficult, but register cases standardised assessment protocol allow more accurate comparison disparate techniques.
