摘要: Objectives: The present work was carried out with a view to analyze the major phytochemical compounds of Indian spices, cumin ( Cuminum cyminum L.), fenugreek Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) and fennel Foeniculum vulgare Mill.). Methods: Hydro-alcoholic (30% ethanol in water, v/v) extracts were prepared from selected spices analyzed for extract yield, loss on drying (LOD), pH such as total alkaloids, phenols, flavonoids tannins quantified by spectrometric methods. High performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) gas coupled mass spectrometer (GC-MS) techniques employed reveal phytochemicals spice extracts. Results: revealed be 5.36-5.62, (12.54–15.41%) yield (8.62–29.19%). Among investigated samples, higher levels alkaloids (2.032%) (0.809%) found while exhibited highest content phenolics (3.39%) flavanoids (2.621%). hydro-alcoholic subjected HPTLC analysis results suggested presence three different fenugreek, whereas displayed only one peak. Cumin, showed relatively similar spots Rf values 0.51, 0.62, 0.90 0.97, which indicates four type each extract. Presence some volatile identified GC-MS analysis. Conclusion: Due various constituents favorable LOD pH, presently could used drug formulations.
