摘要: Following injury or surgical resection, the liver has remarkable ability to regenerate. Despite over 100 years of research, trigger regeneration cascade only recently been identified. Shear stress-induced nitric oxide (NO), released secondary a hemodynamic event following partial hepatectomy (PHX), implicated as cascade. However, it is also known that prostaglandins (PGs) are PHX, and in response shear stress. Therefore, hypothesized PGs, an increase blood flow-to-liver mass ratio cascade, NO PGs interact during triggering event. An index initiation c-fos mRNA expression 15 min after employed. As expected, increased PHX this was inhibited by synthase antagonist, l-NAME. This inhibition reversed donors, SIN-1 SNAP, PGE2 PGI2. Also, indomethacin, cyclooxygenase antagonist. These results suggest there interaction between situation where either COX inhibited, provision excess exogenous can reverse inhibition. suggests and/or may play role potentiation
