摘要: The pericardial organs (POs) are a pair of neurosecretory that surround the crustacean heart and release neuromodulators into hemolymph. In adult crustaceans, POs known to contain wide array peptide amine modulators. However, little is about modulatory content early in development. We characterize morphology embryonic lobster, Homarus americanus. well developed by midway through (E50) life neuromodulatory substances. Immunoreactivities orcokinin, extended FLRFamide peptides, tyrosine hydroxylase, proctolin, allatostatin, serotonin, Cancer borealis tachykinin-related peptide, cholecystokinin, cardioactive present approximately life. There two classes projection patterns POs. hydroxylase project solely from subesophageal ganglion (SEG), whereas remaining modulators SEG as thoracic ganglia. Double-labeling experiments with subset did not reveal any colocalized peptides These results suggest could be major source
