摘要: The proteolytic and saccharolytic activity of 4 Candida species was investigated in batch cultures pooled, human mixed saliva supplemented with glucose. All the (Candida albicans, tropicalis, glabrata krusei) demonstrated a marked growth concomitant reduction pH from about 7.5 to 3.3, within 72 h. Isotachophoretic analysis culture supernatant revealed presence variety acid anions which pyruvate acetate were most abundant. Proteolysis salivary components, evaluated by biochemical assay sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, exhibited all species, although there inter-species variation. Despite similarity rates, C. tropicalis krusei greater than albicans glabrata. Neither candidal nor proteolysis observed glucose-free control samples. In contrast, degree single isolate glucose-supplemented parotid appeared be relatively weak compared saliva. As oral cavity provides ideal low niches periodically dietary carbohydrates, acidic proteinases may play role pathogenesis candidiasis.
