摘要: To assess the hepatoprotective activity of a new herbal drug “setarud” in experimental liver fibrosis, 48 male Wistar rats were divided into four groups: controls, carbon tetrachloride (CCl 4 ) group, and two treatment groups that received CCl setarud at doses 0.02 or 0.04 g/Kg/day for 30 days. Body weight gain, biochemical tests, bile flow rate composition, changes morphology studied. administration led to morphological evidence injury as compared untreated controls. Setarud significant protection against -induced body morphology, concentration. It was also associated with significantly lower serum enzyme levels (p < 0.01), higher albumin level, reduced increase narcotic-induced sleeping time. Thus, showed protective –induced hepatotoxicity rats. Further studies its efficacy disease are warranted. Indian J Gastroenterol 2008 May-Jun; 27: 110-112.
