Temporary Silicone Oil Tamponade in the Management of Retinal Detachment with Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy

摘要: Silicone oil was used as a temporary (four to six weeks) tamponade in conjunction with vitreous surgery the management of 146 eyes retinal detachment complicated by proliferative vitreoretinopathy. A success rate 62% (90 cases) achieved months after silicone removed. Clinical complications directly related were rare and did not progress or develop removal except for opacification lens phakic eyes. This occurred frequently (43 55 eyes) progressed many withdrawal silicone.
