Libido testing and the effect of exposing sexually naive Awassi rams to estrous ewes on sexual performance

摘要: The study was designed to test libido of Awassi rams and detect whether their exposure estrous ewes can improve sexual performance. Twenty (yearlings 2-year olds) were subjected performance tests. Yearlings sexually naive at the beginning study. Rams individually exposed two for 30-min periods on five occasions each 2 days apart. Ram behavior recorded during exposure. Yearling engaged in more (P 0.05), however, day influenced incidence mounting (P<0.05) tail-raising (P<0.01), ejaculation rate (P<0.01). Significant correlation (P<0.01) existed between bouts leg kicking anogenital sniffing (r=0.4) tail raising (r=0.5). These results indicate that exposing before breeding season may be necessary
