摘要: Abstract Vegetable farmers’ knowledge and perceptions of pests, diseases pest management practices were investigated by interviewing 112 growers in Botswana between April June 2004. Most the farmers grew brassicae crops, Swiss chard tomato, considered arthropod problems as major constraint to vegetable production. Bagrada hilaris Burm., Plutella xylostella L. Brevicoryne barassicae most serious pests on brassicas, with red spidermites (Tetranychus spp.) being tomato. Ninety-eight percent relied heavily use synthetic pesticides control these pests. Their decision apply was mostly noticing presence a or disease. An integrated programme is needed reduce over reliance pesticides.
