摘要: Cognitive interviewing has emerged as one of the more prominent methods for identifying and correcting problems with survey questions. We define cognitive administration draft questions while collecting additional verbal information about responses, which is used to evaluate quality response or help determine whether question generating that its author intends. But beyond this general categorization, potentially includes a variety activities may be based on different assumptions type data are being collected role interviewer in process. This synthesis reviews range current practices, focusing three considerations: (1) what dominant paradigms interviewing-what produced under each, their apparent advantages; (2) key decisions interview study design need made once approach selected (e.g., who should interviewed, how many interviews conducted, probes selected), bases exist making these decisions; (3) evaluated, standards evidence questionnaire findings. In considering issues, we highlight where best practices not clearly defined, suggest broad areas worthy methodological research.
