摘要: The present study was conducted to investigate the cytogenetic effects of sildenafil citrate in SWR/J mouse bone marrow cells. Thirty-six males and 36 females were used divided into four groups. Each group contained 18 animals (9 9 females), weighing 30–35 g. These orally administered with a single dose 13, 26 or 40 mg/kg solution. A control received normal saline an identical condition. sacrificed at 12, 24 48 h, after treatment. Chromosome aberrations investigated 50 metaphases per animal. No significant differences percentages mitotic indices frequencies chromosome observed between treated male female mice any doses time intervals used, therefore, data from two sexes pooled when analyzed statistically. No (p < 0.05) citrate-treated groups used. However, centromeric adhesions increased significantly (p < 0.01) as compared all used. In conclusion, results suggest that does not have on cells, but induced by this drug need further studies confirm them possible mechanism(s) responsible for such effect.
