摘要: We demonstrate a method for mode-selection by coupling GaN nanowire laser to an underlying gold substrate. Multimode lasing of nanowires is converted single-mode behavior following placement onto film. A mode-dependent loss generated the absorbing substrate suppress multiple transverse-mode operation with concomitant increase in threshold only ∼13%. This provides greater flexibility realizing practical lasers and offers insight into design metal-contacted nanoscale optoelectronics.
