摘要: Vision loss caused by the death of photoreceptors is leading cause irreversible blindness in developed world. Rapid advances stem cell biology and techniques transplantation have made photoreceptor replacement a very plausible therapeutic strategy. These include demonstration restoration vision following generation transplantable populations donor cells from cells. In this review, we present brief overview recent progress transplantation. We then consider more detail some challenges presented degenerating retinal environment that must play host to these transplanted cells, how may influence integration survival, developing strategies circumnavigate issues.
