摘要: Abstract Current economic crisis brought to light the structural deficiencies of European economy. This paper aims improve performances a policy on sustainable municipal solid waste management strategies. Specifically, attention is focused Italian country that reports high rate landfilling. Waste Energy plant an attractive technological option in waste, but it subject intense debate. Incinerators require effective and efficient controls avoid emissions harmful pollutants into air, land water, which may influence human health environment. To address situation, this study uses multi-objective mathematical programming. A new plan presented evaluate quantify effects initiatives for diversion current from landfill. In attempt better simulate realistic scenarios, amount generated not annually constant changes are accounted rates. Moreover, due geographical characteristics Italy, realization facilities replicated with regional detail. financial indicators used define profitability facilities. sensitivity analysis test some initial assumptions. Once identified plant, strategies proposed optimize environmental benefits sector. The framework provides concrete scheme future research assessing quantitatively effectiveness management.
