摘要: Pregnant women are often complicated with diseases including viral or bacterial infections, epilepsy, hypertension, pregnancy-induced conditions such as depression and gestational diabetes that require treatment medication. In addition, substance abuse during pregnancy remains a major public health problem. Many drugs used by pregnant off label without the necessary dose, efficacy, safety data required for rational dosing regimens of these drugs. Thus, concern arising from widespread use is transfer across placental barrier, leading to potential toxicity developing fetus. Knowledge regarding ATP-binding cassette (ABC) efflux transporters, which play an important role in drug absolutely critical optimizing therapeutic strategy treat mother while protecting fetus pregnancy. Such transporters include P-glycoprotein (P-gp, gene symbol ABCB1), breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP, ABCG2), multidrug proteins (MRPs, ABCCs). this review, we summarize current knowledge respect developmental expression regulation, membrane localization, functional significance, genetic polymorphisms ABC placenta their relevance fetal exposure toxicity.
