摘要: Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the QuickVue ® RSV Test Kit (QUIDEL Corp, CA, USA) as a screening tool for respiratory syncytial virus in children with acute disease comparison indirect immunofluorescence assay gold standard. In Brazil, rapid antigen detection tests are not routinely utilized diagnostic tool, except diagnosis dengue and influenza. Methods authors retrospectively analyzed 486 nasopharyngeal aspirate samples from under age 5 infection, between December 2013 August 2014, were by kit. Samples discordant results real time PCR nucleotide sequencing. Results From 313 positive assays, 282 (90%) also test, two only 33 171 both methods. 35 PCR; test five assays PCR. There no relation negativity viral load or specific strain. showed sensitivity 90%, specificity 98.8%, predictive value 99.3%, negative 94.6%, accuracy 93.2% agreement κ index 0.85 assay. Conclusions This demonstrated that can be effective early Respiratory is reliable use pediatrics.
