摘要: Imaging studies have reported marked reductions in brain glucose metabolism Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). However, less is known about disruptions the patterns of metabolic activity. Here we questioned whether AD affects homogeneity yheterogeneity metabolism. PET images 35 subjects were compared with those controls. A template was applied to extract a cortical rim, which partitioned into 990 contiguous regions. Estimates obtained using coefficient variation (CV). The CV entire cortex found be significantly larger AD, suggesting increased heterogeneity at whole level. In contrast, regional lower temporal and parietal cortices, regions that along precuneus had largest decrements, though CV. enhanced for global pattern most likely reflects variability degree pathology among as wel las neuroanatomicaldisconnection. parietaland temporalcortices reflect loss differentiation (i.e. macrocolumnar disorganization). precuneus, despite its metabolism, suggests increases cortices are not mere reflection decrement 2002 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd.
