摘要: Objective: To evaluate the impact of frailty, measured using Canadian Study Health and Aging Clinical Frailty Scale, on outcomes older people hospitalized with acute illness. Method: Consecutive patients were randomly allocated to a model development sample or validation sample. Multivariate analyses used in-hospital mortality, new nursing home placement, length stay. Variables selected in samples tested samples. Results: The mean age all 2,125 was 82.9 years. Most (93.6%) admitted through emergency department. predicted mortality (odds ratio [OR] = 2.97 [2.11, 4.17]), placement (OR 1.60 [1.14, 2.24]), hospital stay (hazard 0.87 [0.81, 0.93]). Discussion: is strong predictor adverse An increased awareness its may alert clinicians screen for frailty.
