摘要: Summary Carotid artery disease is a common condition which, like head and neck cancer, primarily smoking related. Internal carotid stenosis may result in cerebro-vascular complications, while severe of the external can potentially compromise microvascular free tissue transfer reconstruction. We were interested to see whether any co-existing could be assessed on CT scan by comparing it definitive duplex scanning cancer patients. common, internal arteries was compared 30 patients (180 vessels). The arterial phase scans reviewed two radiologists all performed one vascular technician minimise inter-operator variability. respective findings blinded. Significant correlations found between confirming ( P = 0.02 = 0.08), with under-estimating true extent this vessel. sensitivity specificity 77% 94% respectively. useful not only for imaging patients, but also screening stenosis. Duplex more accurate than assessing artery, evaluating significant tree.
