摘要: Retroperitoneal abscesses are uncommon conditions with occult and insidious presentations. There is often a lack of abdominal signs ultrasound findings, causing delay in diagnosis definitive treatment, leading to poor patient outcomes. We report case right-sided retroperitoneal abscess 28-year-old female diabetes mellitus. Prior admission, the reported vague 2 weeks history back pain dysuria. She presented our medical ward suspected pyelonephritis renal abscess. A involving right fossa was revealed on an urgent CT scan. The underwent percutaneous ultrasound-guided pigtail catheter drainage. Patient clinically biochemically improved management gradually over weeks. This highlights importance investigating for recurrent urinary tract infections diabetics which overlooked general practice.
