摘要: Abstract We present a re-analysis of longitudinal study the confrontation naming and verbal comprehension performance two progressive aphasic subjects, Mary EP, who initially presented with disturbed word-finding. set out to establish which, if any, psycholinguistic variables known affect in normal subjects influenced success at these individuals. Regression analysis suggested that Mary's was by age acquisition, such words acquired early life were more accessible than those later life. In contrast, EP's affected familiarity, familiar produced greater accuracy less words. addition, both evidenced difficulties. failure highly associated name. suggest this implies role for familiarity organization semantic memory determines course breakdown dementia. case spared initially, suggesting hers due separate, lexical-phonological deficit. On basis, we would argue involvement acquisition access phonological representations, earlier remaining relatively invulnerable progression.
