摘要: Object The authors evaluated the outcome of radical surgery in a consecutive series patients with giant vestibular schwannomas (VSs). Methods Fifty VSs > 4.0 cm maximal extrameatal diameter were included this retrospective study (Group A). group was compared matched 167 < 3.9 B). In all cases retrosigmoid approach used. Outcome measures completeness tumor removal, facial nerve function, hearing, and surgery-related complication rate. Results mean size Group A 4.4 that B 2.3 cm. Total removal achieved 97.6% patients. anatomical integrity preserved 92% 98.8% B. At last follow-up 75% had excellent or good 19% fair 6% poor function. 33% (3 cases) preoperative hearing level, it w...
