摘要: Introduction: Loss of an eye caused by cancer, trauma, or congenitaldefect creates a deep psychological impact on individual’s life es-pecially social and professional life. Custom-made prosthesis, com-pared to stock provides better fit the socket, bettercosmeticresults,andlessdiscomforttothepatientinthelongterm.Themain objective this article was describe 3 different alternative andpractical techniques fabricating custom-made ocular prosthesis.Case Report: An impression anophthalmic socket madewith addition cured silicone-based precision ma-terial in all techniques. A master cast prepared duplicatedwith condensation silicone. self-cure acrylic resin polymerizedin silicone model fitted into patient’s socket. Adigitalphotographofthepatient’siriswasmadeusingadigitalcameraandprintedongood-qualityphotopaperinvariousshadesandsizesinthe first second Then photo paper coatedwith PVC so as not allow any color flowing. The proper iris wasthen inserted base. prosthesis final processedusing orthodontic heat polymerizing clear resin.In other technique, after trying-in process with waxpattern, base fabricated using polymerizingscleral resin. prosthetic from trans-parent contact lens painting watercolor paints andattaching it tissue conditioner. pro-cess made transparent resin.Conclusions: allows esthetic andfunctional results patient comparison prosthesis.Further follow-up is necessary check condition theocular such patients.Key Words: artificial,maxillofacial defect(J Craniofac Surg 2012;23: 1779Y1781)
